Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) CEO and managing director N. Chandrasekaran informed the Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, on Thursday that they would recruit another 28,000 personnel at its facilities in the city soon.

The TCS chief called on the Chief Minister in the Secretariat and discussed the IT major’s expansion plans for Hyderabad. TCS vice-president V. Rajanna and secretary of IT&C Department Harpreet Singh too were present.

Explaining the TCS activities to Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao, the top executives of the company informed the latter that they were the fourth largest IT company in the world and has branches across the globe. Stating that about 26,000 personnel were already employed in TCS facilities in the city, they said they were also utilising the services of several youth from Telangana.

The Chief Minister told the TCS executives that the Government of Telangana would utilise the company’s services in the reconstruction of the State and invited them to make more investments here stating that his government was industry-friendly.

Police station

In response to a request to set up a police station at Adibhatla where TCS and other IT firms have their facilities, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao directed DGP Anurag Sharma to sanction a full-fledged police station there as thousands of IT professionals were working in the area, including about 8,000 women employees.
